At the last minute I got the request from Vanguard to enter the competition to design a; ”bad ass, but sophisticated and ‘well dressed’ Scrambler bike” based on the new released Moto Guzzi V85 TT.

With both brands and the given criteria in mind I started putting some designs down on paper how the bike would have to look like. Beginning with the base idea for a scrambler, that is a bare bike that’s fitting for all kind off terrains. This meant the V85TT had to go on a bit of a diet. I therefore removed every pound of bodywork to a bare frame.

Since the bike, without fairing, gastank, seat, etc., is quite a low stretched bike, I wanted to give the bike a bit off body back, but make it look toned and slim. This is realized by designing a gastank with an empty space going trough. 3D composite wooden panels integrated in the tank are made from; wood chips with carbon fibers cast in resin. Replacing a heavy part of the original bike, with a light and ecstatic designed feature. The tank together with the floating subframe, give the bike a strong modern sophisticated scrambler look.

Other features that fit the scrambler look are; the all-road enduro tires, a dirt bike inspired front fairing LED headlight, a minimalistic skid plate branded with the Vanguard name, carbon exhaust, a partially denim seat integrated with the 3D jeans lion logo and other high end products and gadget feature details.
