3D Scanning

3D scanning is a revolutionary technique that makes it easy to reverse engineer any type of object no matter the size. With our Einsan 3D Pro 2x Plus scanner (click for more info) we make digital models of physical objects. But why would you want to 3D scan an object? Most objects that we scan are because of their difficult/impossible to measure geometry. Take for example a intake for a V8 engine, there are so many impossible to reach areas with conventional measuring methods that the easiest solution is to 3D scan such a part, same counts for a variety of organic shaped geometry.

Another big portion of our scans are to reverse engineer existing product to

When a 3D scan is made a mesh file is created up to 0.02mm accuracy depending on the scan method and settings used. This STL mesh file can be used to design new product or can be translated to a STEP file with workable features. This STEP file is nececary if you are looking into changing the model or if you want to CNC reproduce the product. STL files are only usable in digital environments, for physical use the STEP file is mandatory. The only exception would be 3D printing, but still then I would advise to rebuild the 3D STL file into a STEP file for the best results.

WHY WOULD YOU 3D SCAN?

MEASURE IMPOSSIBLE GEOMETRY, SPEED UP DESIGN PROCESS, IMPROVE UPON EXITING PRODUCTS.

Pricing is based on size, complexity, and desired file type. For small objects the pricing is roughly listed as follows:

  • 100x100x100 €100,- (ex vat)

  • 200x200x200 €200,- (ex vat)

  • 300x300x300 €300,- (ex vat)

  • larger objects price on request

These prices are excluding the conversion from STL to STEP (mandatory for CNC/CAD/CAM), this is based on complexity of product and calculated with a hourly rate of €90,- (excl vat)

Besides a 3D scanning service we also provide engineering and design services, for more info visit: luucmuiscreations.com

PRICING FOR 3D SCANNING

HOW TO PROCEED

It all begins with the quotation through our contact form. If you like more information on for hand feel free to contact us through mail or give us a call. Based on the form we’ll send you a quotation or ask for more information or photos of the products to give a more accurate quote.

When you agree on the quotation, we request you to ship or bring your product to our office located in Groningen the Netherland and we start scanning!

We’ll return your product and send you the 3D scan data through a transfer. If requested we’ll convert the 3D scan to a STEP file and send these as well.

THAT’S HOW EASY IT IS.

Note* scanning on location is possible, but only in circumstances that it’s truly impossible to ship the product. For example a disassembled car chassis.
